Job Summary
The Oracle Solaris System Administrator will be responsible for setting up servers, installing servers, creating and implementing Linux configurations, networking servers, and troubleshooting.
The Oracle Solaris System Administrator looks after design, installation, maintenance, and retirement of the systems, application server, WebLogic Server, data, security of the systems that are at the core of the organization, This role is responsible for the Technical and server Administration for infrastructure: Designing, building and implementing IT infrastructure; Proving timely and high-quality completion of projects (Tasks and request and ensuring the IT infrastructure environment is up to data through proactive auditing and Patch management.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage, support, and maintain Solaris/ Linux installed systems.
Install, upgrade, and maintain Solaris / Linux based systems.
Load balancing in PR and DR Application servers.
Migration and upgrading server and resource sharing Management in PR and DR Sites.
Maintain Application Server redundancy to measure of setting up backup servers to support a primary server.
Monitor and maintain the stand by application server for single point of failure for PR site.
Restructuring the setup and design for the out of country DR site.
Ensure security of systems and data.
Manage system backups, restore, and recovery.
Manage user accounts, groups, and services.
Manage and maintain storage.
Work with users to resolve account/system issues.
Provide support on all Solaris/ Linux applications and UNIX based applications.
Assist with Solaris/ Linux server administration tasks.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Engage in continuous testing of new Solaris / Linux versions and applications on an on-demand basis.
Perform change control.
Assist with user management, such as creating accounts for new hires and training seasoned professionals on company policies.
Install and maintain servers.
Help automate server maintenance, including running scripts and automated processes.
Maintain server uptime and network performance.
Assist with server documentation.
Maintain server security.
Ensure all administrative procedures are followed.
Provide support to users on basic and advanced desktop and server tasks.
Document all server incidents and outages.
Design, Implement, High availability and responsible for managing and Maintaining system storage, VMs and server management.
Manage and Administrator Storage Area Network (SAN) or Network Attached Storage (NAS).
Apply OS and hypervisors patches update or upgrades if require on a regular basis.
Managing and maintenance of overall datacenter infrastructure.
Perform security monitoring to identify possible security risks, take steps to mitigate the security risks.
Maintain the integrity and availability of application, servers, storage infrastructure and devices.
Perform any other task assigned by the section manager.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
4+ years of Solaris / Linux System Administration experience.
Experience with Solaris / Linux system architecture.
Experience with Solaris / Linux-based VPN clients, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, filesystems, and authentication.
Experience with Solaris / Linux.
Data center infrastructure.
In dept experience with VMware ESXI administration, Oracle Virtualization installation, and advanced troubleshooting.
