Women for Afghan Women (WAW) is a grassroots civil society organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of disenfranchised Afghan women and girls in Afghanistan and New York. In particular, WAW works to help Afghan women and girls exercise their rights to pursue their individual potential to self-determination, and to representation in all areas of life—political, social, cultural, and economic. WAW relentlessly advocates for women’s rights and challenges the norms that underpin gender-based violence to influence attitudes and bring about change.
WAW is implementing and a short-term project on GBV-EVAW and Women Rights, and hire local trainers to develop GBV and IDS public awareness raising session to promote the women’s right among IDPs and returnees and GBV communities.
The Holder of the position will be based on Faryab with regular visits to targeted areas and will assist project team in order to provide quality services and achieve project final goals. He will focal point for Faryab Mobile Team and will act as a provincial manager by direct reporting to Project manager.
Conduct GBV Public awareness raising sessions to survivors of VAW including community of IDPs and returnees on women’s and children's rights and information sessions on available resources such as government entities or other NGOs.
Conduct Information Dissemination sessions (IDS) to government officials, community-based groups and members of civil society organizations (CSOs) to enhance their capacities and assist the beneficiaries in reintegrating with their families and society.
Establishing good and effective coordination with social development councils CDCs in order to find their needs on cases of gender-based violence, human rights, women's rights, and elimination of violence against women and explaining such cases in local languages to the audience of programs
Holding meetings with social development councils CDCs and relevant stakeholders in order to explain the goals of the project and the activities of the Women's Institute for Afghan Women in the provinces of the country
Coordination with the work team for the purposes and objectives of the project
To prepare, design, distribute and coordinate all awareness training related matters & materials with relevant stakeholders & communities.
To prepare a realistic plan & proposed implementation strategy
Conduct & Carry out awareness trainings on Women Rights to the to the target population especially women and girls, and including police, attorney, school teachers and students, community leaders, religious leaders and CDCs
Province Manager in smooth implementation of the project
Prepare the material, such as guidelines, and reports Hand-out.
Enhance coordination and cooperation in training
To prepare training report.
To Design & Distribute the ICE materials (banners & posters) in the community.
Bachelor Degree (Bachelor in Law, Public Administration and or Sharia is preferred)
To have a least 3 years of experience in related field or community based projects
Understanding & Familiarity of the local culture
Fluency in Dari and Uzbaki
Computer skill will be plus point
He/she is required to be adaptable for larger tasks not specified in this framework
Able to work overtime on weekends or holidays required by the supervisor or program.
