Job Summary

Position and Reporting line:
The incumbent is responsible to the Paramedic Supervisor or in his absence to Sr. Medical Officer/Site Operation Officer.

General objective:
The incumbent will set up and maintain the activities according the DDG operational SOP. He will be responsible for reporting to his line manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Specific tasks
• Ensure that the assigned medical equipment is complete and serviceable as described in the Medical SOP and the On Site Requirements SOP.
• Remain alert and available at all times during the Demining, Survey-, BAC- and EOD activities.
• Ensure that the safety vehicle is available, capable of evacuating a lying casualty and ready to be used as an ambulance.
• Maintain at all times a high level of collective hygiene at the work site, within the ambulance and the camp compound.
• Inspect the validity of medicine, drugs and equipment in a daily basis.
• Report any problems or concerns related to the Team members, assigned equipment and medical kits to the Team Leader and in his absence to the Medical Supervisor/Site Operation Officer.
• Perform MEDEVAC exercise on command by the Section Leader.

Job Requirements

Education:
1. Graduate from IHS (Institute of Health Science), at Doctor Assistant level or at least at nurse level (certificate obtained)
Experience:
1. At least 1-3 years of relevant position experience with Mine Action organization will be an advantage
2. 1-3 years of practical experience in private or governmental hospital as doctor assistant or as nurse level.

Languages:
1. Fluency in Dari/Pashto is required.
2. English at middle level is required.

Other requirements:
1. Capable to work in a mission period of appox. 22 days without holidays, (8 days will be given as Mission Leave at the end of every month)

Flexibilities:
1. Able to travel to any provinces of Afghanistan when/as needed.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:
Performance evaluation will be rendered by the Paramedic Manager and Medical and Training Officer. Key criteria for evaluating performance will be: Achievement of the responsibilities outlined.

Written exam and math exam will be required.
