Turquoise Mountain is a non-profit, non-governmental organization specializing in urban regeneration, business development, and education in traditional arts and architecture. We seek to provide education, skills and livelihoods to Afghan men and women. Since 2006 Turquoise Mountain has cleared 36,000 cubic meters of rubbish from the streets, restored or built 150 historic and community buildings, created a primary school and a clinic, and installed water, electricity, and sanitation through the historic traditional craft neighborhood of Murad Khani in the old city of Kabul. It has created the internationally accredited Institute for Afghan Arts & Architecture, training the next generation of craftsmen and women in woodwork, jewelry and gem cutting, calligraphy and miniature painting, and ceramics. Finally, it has sold over US$ 15,000,000 of Afghan artisan products internationally..

Job Summary

As a Pashto and  Islamic Subjects Languages Teacher, she is responsible for teaching the Pashto and Islamic Studies managing classes based on academic standards. Her duties will range from the preparation of course work, planning of classes and the marking of work handed in. On top of this she will also have to arrange some useful activities and set targets for the students. She will also be responsible for the safety of students during the lessons. She must report on all her class related activities to her Line Manager, she will teach Pashto and   Islamic Subjects Languages Subjects for Children. The knowledge of working and teaching children is a must.

Duties & Responsibilities

·The Pashto &   Islamic Subjects Teacher is responsible for teaching Pashto and   Islamic Subjects.

·Lesson Planning: prepare lesson plans and instructional materials based on the    or the needs of your students. This involves selecting appropriate teaching resources, such as textbooks, worksheets, online tools, or multimedia materials.

·Developing flexible, effective teaching tools and methods to help students learn Pashto and   Islamic Subjects.

·Establishing clear learning objectives and developing these with their students.

·Communicating with students in an understandable and effective way about daily lessons and instructions.

·Creating and assigning learning projects, essays, tests, quizzes, and homework for students, then grading their performance accurately on these assignments.

·Teaching Pashto Skills: teach various aspects of Pashto &   , including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Help students improve their vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and comprehension skills through interactive activities. and exercises.

·Managing students’ behavior in the classroom and on school premises and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehavior.

· Preparing a Teaching Plan, Attendance Sheet and applying Teaching Tools is a must.

· individualized Instruction: Assess students' language abilities and tailor instruction to meet their specific needs. Provide personalized feedback, address areas of improvement, and offer additional support or resources when necessary.

·Plans lessons in line with targeted objectives to ensure that students learn. She also encourages, monitor, and records the progress of his students.

·Working Students individually if they need extra help and support in their Pashto and   Islamic Subjects Language’s lessons.

·Selecting and using a range of different learning resources and equipment.

·monitoring Progress: Track and monitor students' progress and performance regularly. Identify areas where students are struggling and implement strategies to address their individual needs effectively.

·Classroom Management: Create a positive and supportive learning environment. Establish rules and expectations for behavior and participation, manage student interactions, and address any issues or disruptions that may arise during class.

·  participating in departmental meetings and whole school training events.

· Knowledge and Skills of teaching children is necessary.

· Could Cope with Teaching children aged 6-12 teaching.

· Daily school supervision, taking exams and marking the papers of students and giving feedback.

Job Requirements

· At least Diploma from (darul Malimin) in Pashto or Islamic studies, bachelor’s degree from Education Faculty and Kabul university will be preferred.

·Having at least 2 years’ experience in teaching primary and secondary school students.

· In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures

·The knowledge and Skills of teaching children is a must.

·Having the best teaching ability to carry the knowledge and skills to the learners.

·Outstanding written and verbal communication skills is a preference.

·familiarity with both national languages.
