Job Summary

Ensure the timely delivery of translated and edited materials from Urdu/English to Pashto and vice versa

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure the timely delivery of translated and edited materials from Urdu/English to Pashto and vice versa

Ensure a high quality of work with Pashto and Urdu/ English translations reflecting an accurate portrayal of the meaning found in the Pashto and English source documents

Ensure high quality editing of documents in Pashto and Urdu/English

Editing to include rewrites where necessary, spelling, grammar and fact checking

Background in journalism highly recommended

Flexibility in working extra hours to meet deadlines

Ability to analyse summaries and translate discussions

Preparing the daily, weekly and monthly reports and submitting them to line manager

Responsible for analysing and editing of all translated scripts and dialogue in line with specific program outlines and channel requirements

Assist the team with appropriate translation of their program copies, scripts, official documents, and project related materials

Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

Job Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor in related field

3 years of work experience in a relevant field

Excellent spoken and written Urdu, English, Pashto and Dari

Excellent interpersonal communications skills

Excellent typing skills in English, Pashto and Dari

Ability to organize and prioritize

Excellent communication skills, all orally and written, essential

Must be able to work well in a team
