Job Summary

AB-HR is looking for qualified applicants for pashto translator position in Camp Egger.

Duration Contract: Six months with possibility of extension.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Translators will provide English, and Pashto translations in person and in writing for the Military environment.
• The goal of the contract is to provide translation services at the High levels of the US Military at Afghanistan and for military officers and senior leaders at Camp Eggers.
• Translator/ Interpreter must be proficient with the English language, and Pashto so that he/ she should be able to translate nearly simultaneously.
• Translator/ Interpreter should also be able to write Pashto and English so that native speaker/readers can understand and benefit from the translations.
• The translations will be used for high level reporting purposes, thus grammar and spelling must be at a level expected of high school and college education by international standards.
• Translator/ Interpreter should dress in a professional, business manner.

HOURS OF OPERATION.

• Normal Hours of Operation. The employee shall perform the services required under this contract during the following hours: Saturday – Thursday from 0800 – 1700, recognized Afghan holidays off on a rotating basis. The employee may work, with prior approval of the Contracting Officer, extended hours to ensure timely completion of work at no additional cost to the government.

Job Requirements

1- Advisors shall have at a minimum a high school or higher.
2- Possess tow or more years experience in translation.
3- Applicant shall be proficient in Microsoft Office software and databases to include the ability to utilize a Dari/Pashto/ keyboard.


SECURITY CHECK/CLEARANE:
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background investigation and security clearance adjudication conducted by the mission (The backgournd investitation shall be repeated Periodically (Time to Time). The scope of the clearance process is as follows:

• Investigations attempt to assess whether a potential employee might compromise sensitive information or is otherwise unfit for an official position.
• Investigations include interviews, screening tools, and records checks.
• Investigations explore information regarding an individual’s loyalty, character, reliability, trustworthiness, and honesty.
• The investigations provide assurance that a person has not demonstrated behavior that could be a security concern to the mission.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION:
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of medical examination with no positive result. The medical tests are:

• HAV
• HBs
• HCV
• HIV
• VDRL
• Chest X-Ray PA (NOMENCLATURE)
