The American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) is a private, non-profit university offering an American-style liberal arts education. We opened our doors in 2005 and currently offer four undergraduate academic majors and an MBA program. The AUAF’s PDI department is seeking a qualified candidate for a full time position as PDI Admissions and Administrative Assistant based in Kabul.

Job Summary

Position Summary

The role is responsible for the effective assistance to the Admissions and Administrative Assistant in the successful delivery of admissions activities for the Professional Development Institute.


Key outcomes include:

  • ·        Providing comprehensive information to visitors through phone, email and face to face
  • ·        Assisting visitors and students in the admissions process
  • ·        Facilitating events, information sessions and other marketing activities
  • ·        Providing excellent customer service
  • Booking appointments for visitors

Duties & Responsibilities

The Admissions and Administrative Assistant works closely with the Senior Admin and Admissions Officer in the delivery of the day-to-day admissions activities included but not limited to:

  • ·        Provide comprehensive information to visitors and students regarding PDI programs
  • ·        Distribution and schedule, brochures, newsletters, flyers and other collateral materials to market and promote the Institute's activities
  • ·        Assist in the maintenance of proper filing system and record keeping
  • ·        Record and process student entries and roster management
  • ·        Conduct student evaluations, share feedback and file the result if needed
  • ·        Deal with student’s queries and complaints
  • ·        Work on visitor/student campus access in proper coordination with security staff
  • ·        Work closely with Admin team for any administrative tasks
  • ·        Schedule classes for (English, IT & Business) and entering the information of the class to Power Campus
  • ·        Conduct the student evaluation at the end of the classes
  • Print Certificates for all PDI classes

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 year experience in a similar position
  • Good business and creative writing skills
  • Good English, Pashto and Dari skills

  • Good computer skills; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills
  • Good customer relations management skills
