Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the sole independent governing body for managing, organizing and development of Cricket (Men and Women) in Afghanistan. The game of cricket was officially established in 1995 in Afghanistan. It was granted affiliate membership by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001, associate membership of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 2003 and full membership of International Cricket Council in June 2017. Afghanistan has its National Cricket Teams playing among top 10 cricketing countries of the world.

Job Summary

The primary role of the Performance Analyst is to gather and analyze data related to team and player performance, share insights with the team management, and identify areas of improvement. The analyst will be responsible for providing both pre- and post-match analysis, player performance breakdowns, and opposition analysis, as well as supporting the coaching staff with tactical insights.


The Performance analyst will directly report of HPC Manager.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis in HPC-related camps.
  • Conduct video recordings of players during the HPC camps for later review and analysis.
  • Prepare and submit detailed performance analysis reports to the line manager after each camp or match.
  • Record and present videos highlighting areas where players need improvement.
  • Provide constructive feedback to players based on these visual assessments.
  • Provide presentations to players regarding their performance analysis, including areas for improvement.
  • Conduct and provide detailed analysis of opposition teams before and after matches.
  • Study opposition team players through video footage and identify their weaknesses.
  • Provide comprehensive performance analysis to the coaching staff and team management.
  • Offer insights into player performance and opposition strategies to help inform coaching decisions.
  • Oversee the Performance Analysis department, including the 1st XI coding and the VDCP (Video Data Capture Process).
  • Provide support to 2nd XI and academy analysis staff.
  • Manage and train staff involved in match-day camera setup, data capturing, and footage management (venue staff, analysts, and scorers).
  • Provide live in-match analysis and insights to assist players and coaching staff with making objective decisions during the game.
  • Conduct in-depth post-match analysis of 1st XI matches as requested by the coaching staff or team captain.
  • Maintain performance-related databases, contributing to opposition analysis and recruitment analysis efforts.
  • Provide tactical analysis for National U19, first-class, List A, and Twenty20 cricket.
  • Assist the National team if required in making tactical decisions and improving overall strategy.
  • Film and analyze training sessions, providing constructive feedback to players and coaching staff to help improve performance.
  • Work on analyzing players' weaknesses in specific areas and collaborate with coaches to help players improve their skills and overall performance.

Job Requirements

  • Academic background in sports science, performance analysis, or a related field.
  • Coaching certification, at least Level 1 and higher will be preferable.
  • Minimum 6 years proven experience as a Performance Analyst in cricket.
  • Proficient in the use of performance analysis software, video editing tools, and statistical analysis programs.
  • Strong understanding of cricket tactics, player dynamics, and match strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex analysis findings to diverse audiences.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of team strategies, player data, and any sensitive information.
