Peripheral Equipment Operator FSN-05
Under the direct supervision of the mobile computing and Applications section Team Lead, the mobile computing clerk is responsible for the primary support for all mobile computing devices hardware and software, to include BlackBerry, IPhone, IPad, Nokia and Satellite phones within U.S. Embassy Kabul’s Mobile Computing program. This includes end-user support, troubleshooting mobile device issues, escalating SIM Chip issues to the service provider and training users on the operation of mobile device use and roaming services. As the official remote means of communicating with the Department of State (DOS) network, the mobile computing program is seen as an integral part of Mission business; therefore, this position is heavily relied upon to keep the hardware, software, and users operational at all times with very little down time.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Applicants must address required qualifications criteria listed below with specific information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
1. EDUCATION: Completion of Secondary school is required. Information Technology certification: CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCP or Microsoft office Certified MOS.
2. EXPERIENCE: One year of full time work in an administrative work with a business, academic, non-governmental, or international organization.
3. LANGUAGE: Level Four 4 Dari and English Level 3 required.
4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Work on assigned tasks and programs while coordinating with other members of the Helpdesk and ISC. Must have organizational, administrative, and computer skills to include an interest in developing them further. Must be a self-starter who displays initiative, follows-through, shows resourcefulness and adaptability. Must be able to solve problems independently and provide recommendations for improvements.
5. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have knowledge of cellphone, smartphone, and satellite phone operations. Knowledge of computer systems and familiarization of Microsoft Office applications and customer service.
