Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

Job Summary

The incumbent will work under direct supervision of Project Coordinator and Clinic Head (Medical Doctor) and responsible For Planning, Implementation, Supervision And Monitoring Of The Pharmaceutical Activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The pharmacist is responsible for safe and proper storage and supply of medicine and medical equipments for the entire health facilities and main store.
  • The pharmacists is responsible to also act as receptionist in the clinic for registering all patients visiting the clinic.
  • Make sure no medicine is misused. Assure transparent issuance and record keeping.
  • The pharmacist is responsible for medicine in and out to the clinic and shall be accountable for all medicine quality, quantity and expiry dates.
  • Identify and report problems that interferes the delivery of services
  • Ensure safe, clean and proper storage of all medicine and other medical equipments within the storages.
  • Attend coordination meetings related to pharmaceuticals issues.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly activity reports of the Program Coordinator/Medical Doctor
  • Carry out any other task as assigned by the head of clinic.

Job Requirements

  • Graduated from faculty/Institute of Pharmacy
  • Two years relevant experiences in drug management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of computer and English language
