Job Summary

Plumber Foreman (FSN-06)

Duties & Responsibilities

The incumbent serves as a working Mechanic Foreman and performs highly skilled full journeyman level work within the Mechanic and plumbing trades. He will be responsible for all Mechanical repairs of Embassy owned properties and equipment. The incumbent will supervise 9 plumbers and 3 truck Drivers.

Job Requirements

Education: Certified completion of a 3 years Apprenticeship program or 3 years Trade School skills are required
Experience: Minimum of two years as a journeyman as plumber is required. One year of supervisory experience is required.
Language: Level II (Basic Knowledge) Speaking/Reading English, Pashto and Level IV (Fluent) Dari language is required.
Knowledge: Ability to plan, layout and complete the installation, modification and repair of various systems. Ability to interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings; skill in the use of a wide variety of testing equipment. Must be able to use all tools of the trade; must have local class 4 driver\'s license.
Abilities and Skills: Must have a good working knowledge of facilities maintenance. Must be able to supervise, provide technical guidance to the Facilities maintenance officer, and to the maintenance supervisory staff about any related problems. Knowledge of the composition, operation, and installation of a variety of Mechanical systems, equipment, and Plumbing. Knowledge of national and local codes as it applies to commercial buildings.
