The architectural and structural design and construction supervision of Gulbahar Plaza as a new commercial residential complex at the Airport Main Road in Microyan Destrict, in Kabul-Afghanistan.

Job Summary

To provide technical expertise and support in designing, developing, and implementing a planned gas-to-power energy generation facility. The Power Engineer will ensure that all electrical and mechanical systems are designed, installed, and operated efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Design and Development:

Collaborate with the project team to develop detailed designs and specifications for the gas-to-power facility, including electrical and mechanical systems.

Develop and review engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints for the facility.

Technical Oversight and Implementation:

Oversee the installation and commissioning of gas turbines, generators, transformers, and associated equipment.

Ensure all electrical and mechanical systems are installed according to design specifications, safety standards, and best practices.

Conduct inspections and tests to verify the functionality and reliability of equipment and systems.

Regulatory Compliance and Safety:

Implement and monitor safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Prepare documentation for permits, approvals, and compliance reporting.

Operations and Maintenance Support:

Develop and implement operation and maintenance plans for the facility to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Monitor the performance of the power generation systems and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed.

Provided technical support and troubleshoot operational issues as possible.

Project Management and Coordination:

Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.

Maintain a filing system and keep track of project progress.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.

Prepare project status reports, technical documentation, and presentations for project meetings.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Communicate project goals, progress, and compliance with high-level officials, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.

Participate in meetings, conferences, and negotiations with partners and stakeholders.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project activities, including technical documentation, reports, and correspondence.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in power engineering, focusing on gas-to-power or other thermal power generation projects.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with high-level officials and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as required to project sites and meetings with stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

  • The position may require travel to project sites, meetings with high-level officials, and other locations as needed.
  • The candidate should be prepared to work in office and field environments.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or shifts to meet project deadlines or respond to emergencies.
