Job Summary
Power Engineer is responsible for defining preventive maintenance procedures for generator and power system and ensuring that all Power Operation tasks are as Electrical, Mechanical, Air Con & Fuel affairs are handled smoothly overhaul in Farah region. He is responsible to lead all Power Ops staff & properly trained in both preventative maintenance and repair procedures and is done as per requirement. Principle task will be to supply uninterrupted power to GSM telecommunications equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the team (Mechanical, electrical, air-con & fuel) & provide daily, weekly & monthly report.
- To take care of daily emails of outlook related power issues overhaul Farah region
- Pay attention to reduce unnecessary OpEx
- Try to reduce power outages at GSM sites
- To control seriously fuel system (estimation, delivery, consumption, quality….)
- To control seriously solar/hybrid, city power performance
- 24/7 to be in teach with team & Power Management
- Very good coordination with other AWCC department & members
- On time escalation of power requirement to Power Management
- A sound understanding of generator power system, grounding system, Transformer, UPS, ATS Panel and distribution panel etc
- Skill in trouble-shooting of AC and DC power system
- Skill in diagnose, trouble shoot and repair generator alternator and other electrical equipments.
- Ability to follow safety standards in working with power system
- Must have good work habits and able to work with other techs and management staff.
- Good understating of English language
- Good understanding of computer, especially office package
- Try to understand and improve him in technical knowledge on Engines, generator alternator, fuel systems and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Try to improve him for team working and leading good manner with other staff and better communication.
- Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance of all generators as per daily work schedule which is planned by his supervisor.
- Need to involve diagnose, trouble shooting and repairing diesel generators.
- Should work with different size and types of DG’s started from 5 KVA up to 1 MVA.
- Should be able to do maintenance of sites properly and fill out the form and report to his supervisor.
- Should be able to do preventive maintenance for all types of generators (Changing oil-change fuel filter- oil filter, Air-filter and check properly all of sensors and fuel quantity).
- Be able to travel on the job site.
- Work on shifts according to a shift schedule if required.
- Perform other related duties as required like site down repairing DG in the site (changing Parts).
Job Requirements
- College graduated with a minimum of five years of experience in the electrical field.
- Flexible to travel to the Nimroz, Herat, and Helmand.
- Try to understand and improve him in technical knowledge generator alternator, Transformer, AMF panel, Distribution board and other electrical equipment’s.
- Try to improve him for team working and leading good manner with other staff and better communication.
- Should follow the company's official policies and roles.
- Should have good relation and manners with other staff.
- To care and be aware of his responsibilities and duties.
- To respect the company sub-contractors, vendors and have good relations with vendors.
- Should have interest in technical training programs in order to improve his technical knowledge
- Should be able to do a proper job with fewer possible expenses.
- Should have information regarding other technical parts like generators mechanisms, DC, and AC systems.
- To be familiar with office equipment and devices.
- Be able to use Electrical devices correctly.
