Job Summary

The incumbent will present news and Current Affairs shows.

Duties & Responsibilities

·      Presents news stories to radio or television audience

·      Monitors local, national, and international news sources multiple times daily

·      Verifies information with sources and ensures the accuracy of the news report

·      Writes and edits news scripts when necessary

·      Assists in developing program outline by coordinating with fellow reporters, sportscasters, and weathercasters

·      Reports from the field, when necessary, based on the nature of the story

·      Interviews guests for radio or television programs

·      Meeting with the news director, reporters, and other news anchors to be briefed on the day’s news

·      Collaborate with the news director to choose stories to broadcast considering audience preferences

·      Provide briefings for reporters, camera crews and other resources staff and contributors

·      Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

·      High School Graduate/ Bachelor Degree Preferred

·      Relevant Experience

·      Excellent written and verbal skills, including editing skills

·      Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

·      Ability to read teleprompter for television or news report for radio

·      Ability to conduct interviews either on television or radio

·      Must have a pleasant voice and appearance

·      Ability to project a sense of trustworthiness

·      Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
