Procurement and Logistics Manager
The head of procurement is in charge of a procurement staff and provides managerial services such as hiring, training, evaluating and firing employees.
•The head of procurement also directs all procurement activities in accordance to all financial policies and rules.
•The head of procurement is responsible for determining where exactly the services and goods will be acquired. This is done by analyzing the costs of different vendors and determining the quality that each vendor provides.
•The head of procurement is also responsible for acting as a liaison between the procurement unit and other departments. He collects all documentation required by the organization and by law, and reports activities to upper management.
•Develop and manage the procurement department including setting targets and monitoring performance.
•Develop and deliver a Procurement Strategy across the company to deliver the target benefits and financial savings including approving each category manager’s purchase category strategy and savings plans.
•Establish new processes and systems for effective procurement
•Define and manage key supplier relationships to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service and quality, including technical input to negotiations on strategically significant contracts and negotiation and management of third party service providers.
•Develop and agree annual departmental cost savings targets for the annual Budget process; develop and agree the annual procurement plan with directors and departmental heads
•Develop a savings reporting mechanism with Finance which is understood and accepted by the user departments.
•Produce regular reports on performance and provide comprehensive management information and in-depth analysis when requested including spend analysis, savings secured and potential savings – for forecast and budgets.
•Plan, implement and/or supervise key services in the general administration, the procurement process including areas of asset management, property maintenance, general supply chain and functioning.
•Plan, implement and/or supervise/or coordinate logistics, procurement (goods and services).
•Plan and Implement the internal and external statutory law that affect the procurement and logistic.
•Leads and advice the management on all issues related to procurement and logistics and ensure transparency and accountability in all activities.
•Provide inputs to budgets and project proposals for procurement and logistics activities
•The ability to interact with all parties while maintaining and emphasizing a position of principled political neutrality and operational independence is paramount.
•Any other reasonable duty as requested by line management
•Develop a system of tracking procurement and logistics requests and generate status reports.
•Bachelor degree in purchasing Supply Management/ diploma in store, logistics management or equivalent.
•At least 5 to 8 years of experience in procurement and logistics.
•Good understanding of water bottling products or beverages.
