Job Summary
The Procurement and Logistics Manager at Afghan Invest is responsible for managing the purchasing of goods and services, ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement to support the company’s operational needs. The role also oversees the logistics operations, ensuring efficient transportation and delivery of materials, as well as maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1) Procurement:
- Prepare Monthly, Quarter & annual working plan to achieve the company's goals set
- In accordance to the company procedures, carefully handling all quotation of services;
- Make sure to collect relevant signature of all included parties in a procurement document
- Provide awareness & assure budget availability for logistics including the annual logistics plan
- Review contracts aimed at ensuring the compliance & observance of the condition material in the non -advisory services contracts
- Ensure that all steps of procurement measures are under the law & logistics procedures during the steps
- Set up domestic and foreign construction companies in the relevant department's database to invite them for bidding
- The arrangement of correspondence and proposals of non-advisory projects to accelerate the procedure of the relevant office
- Prepare Non -Service Projects Procurement Documents in accordance with the Law and Procedures
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
- Identify and source suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to achieve the best value for the company.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and build relationships with new suppliers to ensure consistent and reliable service.
- Track orders goods & services in accordance to Afghanistan procurement laws & procedures.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability to recommend purchasing options.
2) Logistics Management:
- Plan and manage all logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and delivery.
- Optimize logistics processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and meet delivery deadlines.
- Coordinate with transport providers, warehouse staff, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery and distribution.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring the company maintains appropriate stock levels to avoid shortages or excesses.
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and local regulations.
3) Vendor Management:
- Manage vendor performance by evaluating their delivery, pricing, and quality.
- Resolve any supplier-related issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular supplier audits and performance reviews.
4) Budgeting & Reporting:
- Prepare and manage procurement and logistics budgets.
- Generate and present regular reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, inventory levels, and logistics performance.
- Collaborate with finance teams for budget alignment and cost optimization.
5) Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external policies and regulations, including customs and trade regulations.
- Identify risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master degree is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and logistics management, preferably in a large company setting.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of local and international suppliers.
- Familiarity with logistics software and inventory management systems.
- Fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
