Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

Under the overall direction anddirect supervision of the Program Coordinator of PIU, the technical supervision of the Deputy Program Coordinator, andthe Program Formulation Manager, theProject ImplementationOfficer will, in close collaboration with the General Director of GD-FRD and concerned staff of the unit, be responsible and will carry out the following tasks:

1. Overall management and coordination of the project Implementation unit of PIU.

2. Reporting to the Program Formulation Manager.

3. Perform his/her duties as a good team player.

4. Make sure timely inputs in organizing supplies are sent out to the field staff.

5. Cost effective implementation of project activities at the field level.

6. Make sure timely implementation of project activities as per the plan.

7. Close supervision of implementation of projects at the national, provincial and field levels.

8. Skills development of the project implementation unit of the PIU and other relevant staff of GD-FRD in programs/projects implementation.

9. Give technical backstopping to the field staff.



10. Any other task assigned by supervisors.

Job Requirements

An M.S B.S degree in NRM, Forestry, Horticulture, Programs/project design, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or equivalent is preferred.
Considerable experience in the field of Project Design and Formulation.
At least 3 to 5 years work experience in Government agencies, donor agencies, NGOs or the United Nations in a relevant field.
Strong communication skills in English are essential - Pashto or Dari will be an asset.
High level of demonstrated teamwork skills.
Proof of ability of strong coordination.
Demonstrable analytical, design and presentation skills.

Other analytical and administrative tasks or any other duties reflecting overall purpose of the PIU/GD-FRD of MAIL and the specific development project objectives of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
