Ensure that the design team-related daily/ weekly/ monthly and quarterly works are assigned properly, and carefully check the design of water supply and other projects. Support the Technical & Coordination Unit Manager in the relevant issues
Position Description:
In close coordination with the DACAAR South Regional staff the Project Manager (UNODC) will be the overall responsible for the implementation of the UNODC project activities and also should coordinate the project activities with the authorities, NGOs, UN agencies and other stakeholders based in Kabul and Helmand. He/She will be supported by the field team.
General Tasks and Responsibilities:
· In close coordination with the relevant regional staff the Project Manager is overall responsible of the UNODC project
activities implementation, both social and technical parts.
· Review contractual obligations to assure compliance and achievement of deliverables and milestones in a proactive manner.
· In close coordination with relevant regional staff the Project Manager should manage and control UNODC project budget and
expenditure based on contract requirements.
· In close coordination with relevant regional staff follow up the target achievement process.
· Provide all the required reports for the donor and DACAAR.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
· The Project Manager should undertake comprehensive responsibilities for the project and other responsibilities which are
indicated in this JD.
· When requires the Project Manager should represent DACAAR in the external meetings, workshops, other related events
and discussions concerning DACAAR’s and project implementation.
· Attend program staff meetings and update DACAAR colleagues on the ongoing activities.
· The Project Manager should review the progress reports and ensure its accuracy before sending to the relevant people.
· The Project Manager should ensure all expenses related to the project activities are booked under the relevant budget lines,
in the cases of discrepancy instruct the relevant Field Officers accordingly.
· The Project Manager in close coordination with the field team should lead the PRF preparation process and ensure that all
relevant projects materials (in good quality) are requested according to the project need and timely supplied to the project
sites.
· In close coordination with the regional staff prepare plans, using bottom up approach, to ensure effective implementation of
the project activities.
· The Project Manager should closely work with the field staff and ensure the staff members are receiving the required support
and the field teams are timely sharing the progress report of the ongoing activities.
· When requires the Project Manager in close coordination with the Operations Team and Regional Team conduct trainings to
the project staff, the trainings should enable the project staff to enhance their professional skills and fulfil the job
requirements.
· Conduct pre-monitoring visits to assess the suitability of proposed project activities.
· The Project Manager is responsible to properly handle the donor, DACAAR staff visits and be able to actively promote
DACAAR among the partners.
· As senior member of the team based in Helmand province the Project Manager should oversees the ongoing activities of
other DACAAR projects in the same province and timely share his/her concerns with the relevant Field Officer, south region
Regional Manager, Field Coordinator and Operations team in MO.
· The Project Manager in close coordination with the regional staff, and operations team prepare detail visit plan and share
his/her findings at end of each visit.
· As senior staff based in Helmand province the Project Manager has to ensure that all staff based in the same province follow
the instructions related to the project activities, safety and security, etc. And share his/her concerns timely with the SRO
and Programme Management.
· Prepare and share all the required reports with Fund Raising and Communication Department for further processing and
sharing purposes with the donor and DACAAR.
· Act as a technical focal person for this project.
· The holder of this position must strictly follows the organization existing security policies, procedures and daily instructions
of the safety personnel.

Education/ Qualification and Employment Benefits
Education: Bachelor degree in Agriculture is required, But Master degree in Agriculture is preferred
Experience: Five (5) years of relevant experience in agriculture and livestock relevant projects. Experience with NGO is preferred.

· Having skills of Strong reporting, effective communication problem solving, team building and budget management
Languages: Oral and written fluency in(English, Dari, Pashto)
