The Project Manager Assistant supports the overall coordination, monitoring and reporting of INTERSOS food security activities in Faryab Province, ensuring that the overall program objectives are met, that field staff properly communicate information, fulfill their obligations and receive the necessary support, that all sectors of intervention are properly coordinated and work in synergy in order to achieve the program objectives.
• Support the PM in designing the base line assessment forms for beneficiaries selection and analyse the collected data;
• Plan activities and activity cycles for the CFW/CfT/ unconditional cash programme (hiring, purchasing, etc.) in the light of established objectives;
• Used the project management, monitoring and evaluation tools, particularly the planning and monitoring timeline;
• Support and advise to the base’s logistical department for the purchase of specific tools for CFW/CfT/unconditional cash activities;
• Plan and supervise the CFW/CfT/unconditional cash program implementation he/she is in charge of, being sure to meet deadlines and adhere to predefined technical specifications;
• Supervise and provide support to the CFW/CfT/unconditional cash teams and monitor and evaluate the follow up at community level;
• Insure that security rules regarding cash flow transfer are respected in line with Intersos procedures;
• Capitalize on intervention methods and techniques and on the experiences acquired by Interosos and other participants in the CFW/CfT activities;
• Pass upward to the relevant persons any information on the security situation or on any event that could impact Intersos activities and the safety of the teams;
• Draft activity reports and any annexes relating to specific activities for the financial donor reports and/or amendments;
• Maintain a local operational communications network and good relations with local and government authorities, financial donor representatives, UN agencies and other international agencies;
• Participate in any meeting and workshop in the area of responsibility (security, coordination, programming, etc.);
• Continuously assess the needs in the area of responsibility, in order to adapt activities and identify new projects.
• Diploma in Social work or Community Development or its equivalent;
• Experience working specifically with cash-for-work programmes in an emergency setting highly preferred;
• Past experience in the same position preferably with a humanitarian or International NGO;
• Good Interpersonal communication skills;
• Ability to understand and speak the local language;
• Previous field level experience desirable;
• A team player with good organizational skills;
• Willingness to travel extensively through region of responsibility, spending up to 100% of work time in the field, including in rural and remote areas, to ensure program activities reach intended beneficiaries.
