Job Summary

The Project Manager/Coordinator will be responsible to manage the project activities in the targeted province. S/he will be responsible for overall management, coordiantion, communication, leading, planning and implementation of the project at the provincial levels. S/he is also responsible for the project staff coordination, resource management, project deliverables and providing direction to the staff. The Project Managerwill ensure that the project progresses based on the set targets and within the set timeline.

Duties & Responsibilities

The key responsibilities and accountabilities of the Project Managerare/Coordinator outlined as under:


Assists the head of project operation in effective and efficient execution of SEO projects and programmes in cooperation with provincial coordinator, Progamme Officer, Programme Management Officer of Support Units.

Responsible for full implementation, monitoring and evaluating of project.

Supervise and guide different section for successful implementation of projects.

Preparation of the progress Reports and the projects Work plans;

Assist in mobilizing the resources for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of sub-project handled;

Close liaison and effective reporting to management on project activities;

Regular Mission to field to oversee project implementation, assesses the progress, and gives corrective feedback if necessary after consultation with program manager/director.

Corrective feed back to field staff on managing the project at the f level in close partnership with the concerned governmental offices and the communities;

Assisting in enhancing the capacity of field staff involved in the implementation of project to undertake short-term improvement measures

Secure private sector companies’ commitment to introduce their staff for the trainings offered by the project/SEO.

Ensure that provincial team has close coordination with private sector to refer the qualified job seekers to companies.

Make sure that interviews with private sector firms and job seekers to are conducted and right trainees are shortlisted.

Help the team to identify barriers to employment and assist job seekers and employers with such problems.

Make sure that the training materials and training facilities are available and equipped properly.

Ensure that a strong network of employers and ensure that job seekers have easy access to employers.

Make sure that a job fair is organized in which employers and job seekers can meet each other.

Make sure that the trainers are fully prepared; trainers and trainees registration forms, attendance sheets and questionnaire are properly filled.

Draft weekly and monthly progress reports based on the procedures and reporting templates provided by SEO and submit it to the relevant department at Kabul office.

Coordinate with M&E team to ensure that the project is on track and meets the expectations and project objectives.

Track project deliverables by using appropriate tools.

Ensure that the required project data is entered in the database and records are properly maintained.

Make sure that 70% of job seekers are placed in different jobs in the targeted areas with private sector.

Any other responsibilities as may be reasonably required.

Job Requirements

Minimum bachelor degree in Business Administration. Master degree in Management will be given preference.

Proven ability to undertake activities through a participatory, inclusive and consultative process

Proven interpersonal and negotiating skills, including with people of different background.

Demonstrated experience on training and capacity building and project management activities.

Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.

Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.

Excellent report writing skills.

Excellent analytical and reporting skills and an ability to quickly understand and apply new concepts and methods.

Ability to communicate with persons of various cultures and disciplines.

Ability to work in a dynamic and responsive environment.

Ability to work under pressure and respond to multiple tasks.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in fast paced and stressful environment.

Fluent in Dari, Pashto and English. Should have good knowledge of MS office package.
