Job Summary

Integrity Watch has established itself as a pioneering organization, innovating and experimenting new ideas and tools in anti-corruption, transparency and accountability in Afghanistan. In recent years it has become a more professional and institutionalized organization with a team of over 40 professionals and 50 support staff.Integrity Watch uses a combination of monitoring, advocacy and research activities to achieve the main mandate and objectives that are around the promotion of an active role of citizens and an improvement in the capacity of service delivery institutions. The role of the Project Manager for the Harakat Integrity Initiative was formed based on recommendations made buy The Independent Joint Anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC) in 2012. In those recommendations the MEC called for increased awareness and capacity building for country actors, including religious leaders who will report on corruption and achievements in transparency and accountability. The Harakat Integrity Initiative Project Manager will be leading Integrity Watch’s efforts in connection with Harakat until the end of January 2015.

Duties & Responsibilities


Ensure all project activities are carried out in a timely manner and with attention to quality and professionalism

Develop new ideas and decide on prioritizing and sequencing of activities

Plan, facilitate and outsource the preparation and broadcasting of Islamic educational Radio and TV spots; monitor that spots have been broadcasted

Plan, coordinate and conduct awareness workshops in Kabul and targeted provinces

Conduct and manage Cartoon and Essay competitions

Plan, facilitate and outsource the design and launch website in line with project goals

Plan, coordinate and facilitate delivery of regular speeches by Islamic scholars in Mosques on corruption and its impacts on the society

Outsource, facilitate and provide input to the nationwide campaign (TV/Radio/Print media) as planned in the project document and in coordination with the key stakeholders

Recruitment of Training Team

Recruitment of event management consultants

Coordinate with relevant national and international religious scholars and participants (especially with the embassies and civil society organizations)

Identification target audiences and development of training materials

Venue selection and logistical arrangements

Organizing consultation workshops between religious leaders, Islamic scholars civil society and business community for exchange of knowledge and experience

Providing training for the media and journalist on reporting and investigating cases of corruption

Participate in drafting of reports and proposals to donors in English and Dari

Work toward greater synergies with other programs within IWA

Ensure that research material published through the program is in line with IWA research standards and policy guidelines

Coordinate with the Head of Advocacy and Communications to design and conduct advocacy and communications activities in line with strategic objectives and policies

Monitor the implantation of the program by Monitoring team at the ministry of Hajj

Organize the management committee meetings.

Coordination between IWA and Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs on key project activities.

Job Requirements

Education
At least a master degree in political science, anthropology, public administration, international development, communications studies, or any relevant field;

Experience

At least 3 years of experience in advocacy, managing projects in NGOs or international agencies.

Knowledge, Skills & abilities

Excellent knowledge of and proven capacity in communication, public engagement and advocacy;

Excellent oral communication in English and Dari and/or Pashto; Excellent writing and computer skills;

Excellent management, strategic planning and leadership capacities

Extensive knowledge of the Afghan institutions and social and political environments, actors and dynamics prevailing in Afghanistan;

Ability to develop and manage professional relationships with societal actors, using outstanding interpersonal and coordination skills;

Result-oriented and able to deliver within tight deadlines;

Good knowledge of anti-corruption, governance, transparency and accountability issues in Afghanistan and internationally

Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by IWA management.

Willing to travel to provinces
