Job Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance, site supervision, and overall construction management of school rehabilitation projects. This includes ensuring that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with UNICEF’s standards, specifications, and timelines. The Project Manager will serve as the key liaison between the consulting firm, contractors, and UNICEF, ensuring effective coordination, reporting, and compliance with contractual obligations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle of construction supervision for the rehabilitation of schools, including daily oversight, quality checks, and schedule management.
• Review and approve construction materials, work plans, and testing procedures.
• Ensure proper implementation of health, safety, environmental, and social safeguards at all construction sites.
• Monitor contractor performance, issue instructions, and ensure corrective measures are taken when necessary.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports using UNICEF templates.
• Conducted and documented site meetings, managed variation orders, and supported dispute resolution when needed.
• Coordinate with contractors and UNICEF for inspections, testing, and final handover.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in managing construction or rehabilitation projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, quality assurance, site supervision, and contract administration.
• Proficiency in reporting, site documentation, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
