About Humanitarian Assistance &Development Association for Afghanistan (HADAAF)

HADAAF is not for profit, non sectarian and political organization established in March 2004 and registered with Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Health


Purpose of the establishment is to contribute to the improvement of overall living condition of people especially the most vulnerable groups of people including women, children elderly groups and disables through its input with an emphasis on cost effective intervention and capacity building with in Afghan society thus helping them to contribute to the establishment of a peaceful and stable society regardless of cast, faith ,religion ,ethnicity discrimination and political affiliation to the level of self-reliance, self-efficiency and self-determination.


Currently HADAAAF is working mainly in health sector but also involved in education in hard to reach provinces such as Zabul, Urozgan and Nuristan. HADAAF have also implemented projects of short and long duration in Kunar, Laghman and Jalalabad.


Mission and Goal of HADAAF is to participate in the development and rehabilitation of Afghanistan and empowerment of community to decide on what, where and when to do. HADAAF is established to work for the betterment of living condition which can only be achieved through Multi sectorial coordination and works in partnership with different sector.


Job Summary

Position Summary:

Psychosocial Counselor is responsible for providing of psychosocial services to the clients of Gulan CHC in Khost province. In addition to the specific duties outlined below, the psychosocial counselor will provide support to all mental health-related patients in the clinic.

Duties & Responsibilities

Major Area of Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessment of psychosocial patients and counseling services to the clients
  • Utilizing appropriate protocols and guidelines of MoPH
  • Conduct open awareness-raising session to the clients
  • Conduct regular follow up of cases registered
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling session to the clients
  • Organize awareness session on stress management and other related issues for the clients
  • Keep daily record in a confidential and safe manner
  • Prepare daily and monthly report to in-charge of the clinic
  • Ensure high quality of psychosocial services for clients in the clinic

Additional Job Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities set out above are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out additional duties from time to time which are reasonable in relation to their level of skills and experience.

Job Requirements

  • Able to speak/write in Pashto and Dari with clarity and ease.
  • Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Cooperative and helpful attitude and willingness to work outside normal business hours as needed

Education and Experience:

  • Received psychosocial standard training as per MOPH standard policy (Having of verified certificate from MoPH)
  • At least one-year experience working mention position/relevant field
