Job Summary

Public Outreach officer/translator is responsibe for provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretations at high level meetings, press conferences and dialogues to be held between government officials and foreigners;
,Translate meeting minutes, press releases and other written materials into English ,Pashto and Dari.
,proofread their own translation and that of their colleagues;
,Devise and implement measures to ensure the safety and confidentiality of important translated documents;
,Ensure timely and duty translation of document;
,Assist public outreach unit in all related activities;
,To undertake other duties as requested by the public Outreach Manager and Program Coordinator;

Duties & Responsibilities

1)provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretations at high level meetings, press conferences and dialogues to be held between government officials and foreigners;
2) Translate meeting minutes, press releases and other written materials into English ,Pashto and Dari.
3) proofread their own translation and that of their colleagues;
4) Devise and implement measures to ensure the safety and confidentiality of important translated documents;
5) Ensure timely and duty translation of document;
6) Assist public outreach unit in all related activities;
7) To undertake other duties as requested by the public Outreach Manager and Program Coordinator;

Job Requirements

1. University degree in English literature , journalism or any other relevant subject;
2. Work experience in international organizations preferably with media and public information departments;
3. Minimum three years of demonstrated professional experience ;
4. Excellent command of English and Dari or Pashto languages ,both oral and written ;
5. Excellent computer skills, with MS office (Word, Excel, power Point );
6. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills;
7. Willing and able to travel into other geographical area(s) outside duty station;
8. Motivated, Flexible and capable of working under pressure.
