Job Summary

The Quality Assurance assistants’ key responsibilities consist of reviewing the quality of data collected during research on a range of socioeconomic issues; handling the monitoring and evaluating (M&E) assessment of projects implemented by ATR, and reporting any data quality issue to the Quality Assurance Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities

 Quality Assurance assistants work under the direct supervision of Quality Assurance officers, and are responsible for the verification of the quality of data collected across multiple projects. Quality Assurance assistants provide feedback in order to further enhance the effectiveness of the Quality Assurance department.

Mobilization & Preparation:

1.      Assist in the process of coding surveys and other data collection tools;

2.      Piloting data collection tools;

3.      Assist the project team in finalizing the field researchers’ recruitment;

4.      Establish database with finalized tools.

Training:

1.      Set up smart phones, survey applications, interface with data servers for field researchers;

2.      Attend training on data collection;

3.      Participate in training evaluation.

Quality Assurance of Data Collection:

1.      Monitor Field Researchers;

2.      Assess the quality of data collected (through sampling, GPS points, interview length, audio files, etc.);

3.      Clean data;

4.      Identify outliers and inconsistencies in the data;

5.      In the event of compromised and/or low-quality data, call back respondents;

6.      Input cleaned data into database;

7.      Assess quality of translations;

8.      Evaluate Field Researchers’ performance;

9.      Ensure the correct filing of all data (questionnaires, photographs, interview recordings, monitoring reports, etc.) on server.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or Engineering
2. Excellent spoken and written communication skills
3. Fluent in Pashto, Dari and English
4. 2 years of data management experience
5. Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
6. Excellent computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, SPSS, STATA and ATLAS. ti)
7. Knowledge of data collection software and platforms, especially SurveyCTO, Kobo Toolbox, and ODK)
