The Agency for Rehabilitation Assistance & Development of Afghanistan (ARADA) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, humanitarian organization. ARADA was established by a group of profoundly experienced, professional, and dedicated development practitioners during dire refugee circumstances in Peshawar, Pakistan on the 1st of May 1992. In Afghanistan, ARADA was officially registered in 2003 with the Ministry of Planning but in 2006 with the Ministry of Economy. ARADA has three decades of experience in emergency response projects as well as in development assistance and services to vulnerable people within Afghanistan and Pakistan.
ARADA is the lead agency in TPM services providers responsible for encouraging capacity and growth through the development of appropriate policies, and regulations. It is charged with bringing forward legislation, programs, and other measures to promote implementation of the international donor projects in the country which leads to an increase in employment and a reduction of poverty.
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Assistant is a core staff of the WFP Third Party Monitoring (TPM) Project to perform due diligence on data quality, analysis, and reporting to ensure all projects at the field level are implemented with required WFP humanitarian and monitoring Standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the TPM Quality Assurance Officer, The Quality Assurance Assistant will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
Assist the Quality Assurance Officer to develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols;
Review and validate field monitoring reports submitted by the field monitors and assure quality;
Follow-up with field monitors on the timely submission of reports and completeness of the reports;
Prepare reports and maintain records on quality assurance activities;
If and when needed, conduct field visits to improve quality assurance mechanisms;
Assist in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of trends and best practices of Monitoring Quality Assurance;
Assist the Quality Assurance Officer in reviewing the implementation and efficiency of quality inspection systems within field level;
Assist the Quality Assurance Officer to ensure data collected in the field is accurate, complete and relevant to intervention that comply with required WFP merits and standards;
Assist the Quality Assurance Officer to conduct due diligence in reviewing the field monitors data and reports with related stakeholders to ensure required compliance;
Assume any other tasks assigned by the Quality Assurance Officer.
Job Requirements
Bachelor in Economics, Statistics, Management, Sociology, Civil Engineering, Development/Humanitarian Studies.
At least three years of progressively responsible experience in data management, project management, statistical analysis, report writing, M&E or closely related to Quality Assurance and Management.
Familiarity of Project context, environment, culture sensitivity.
Strong knowledge of Core Humanitarian Standards and awareness of gender and protection of vulnerable groups;
Strong analytical and inspection skills and ability to clearly synthesize and present findings;
Experience utilizing computer (MS Word, MS Excel, Typing, etc.) and smart phone including word processing and knowledge on remote data collection using Kobo, ODK, SPSS, etc;
Ability to speak fluently in both Afghanistan formal languages Pashto and Dari;
Command on English Language with professional expertise in data analysis and report writing.
