1- General objective
- The radio operator will be responsible for monitoring communications of PIN mission in Afghanistan according to the procedures and Guidelines as set by People in Need (PIN). He/she will facilitate the implementation of the above mentioned procedures in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
2- Reporting:
- Supervised by National security coordinator (NSC)
- In absence of national security coordinator (NSC) acting security coordinator will be direct supervisor.
- Operate radio equipment in order to communicate with vehicles, field offices and other remote operation and report to NSC.
- Tracking all PIN related vehicles movements throughout the country on a regular bases and reporting to NSC.
- Conduct regular radio checks with all PIN security focal points, and sub-offices throughout the country with regard to the current security situation and reporting to the NSC.
- In case of a security incident or emergencies calls reporting immediately to the NSC/SO and providing all the assistance required.
- Be responsible for the integrity and safe custody of the confidential PIN international staff and PIN national staff information.
- Briefs staff members on the use and care of assigned communications equipment.
- Assists NSC/SO in updating all emergency contact information and provide necessary emergency info to all PIN staff during the emergency situations as required
- Review applicable regulations regarding radio communications, and report violations
- Examine and operate the communications equipment prior to assign to staff (Thuraya with charger etc.)
- Performs all other related duties as requested by the PIN National Security Coordinator and security officer
High school graduate
Two years of experience in the same or similar position with humanitarian organizations
- Should be able to read/write English, Dari and Pashto.
- Medium level of computer knowledge.
- Previous experience as radio operator.
- Familiar with geography of Afghanistan.
- Welling to work day and night shifts.
- Welling to work in public holidays, EIDs and others if required.
