The General Service Office Assistant/Cook & Cleaner position will be based at the district level and will be reporting to the district Field Logistics Officer. S/he is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the office, preparing tea and refreshments, as well as lunch service. The Cook/Cleaner will carry the following activities as listed below
Clean the interior and exterior of the office and its premises; assist in keeping the office files and equipment safely.
Maintain work areas and office equipment clean.
Ensure office has sufficient supplies of air refreshers, soaps, washing powder, and toilet paper.
Cook lunch for the staff. Make sure that there is a variety of food provided to the office staff from day to another.
Determine the quantity and need of food supplies in the office based on a daily usage.
Provide tea for the office staff, when needed.
Cater special events, as required.
Shop for food as requested.
Ensure that food is stored and prepared properly.
Ensure proper hygiene in the kitchen, wash and keep all kitchen equipment clean.
Wash kitchen towels daily.
Purchase necessary materials and/or equipment for the office kitchen.
Keep the Kitchen clean before, during and after food is prepared.
Clean the dining area in the morning and keep dining table clean all the time.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
The candidate must be from Laja Mangal districts of Paktya Province and must be able and willing to travel and work throughout the district.
Some secondary school education is desirable.
Up to one year of working experience in cooking and cleaning is required.
Working knowledge of Pashto and Dari is required. Basic writing skills in Pashto and Dari are required.
Level one (rudimentary knowledge), or level two (limited knowledge) English ability is required.
Good interpersonal relationship with the staff is required.
Good organizational skills and flexibility in terms of working hours are required.
Should be tactful, honest and punctual.

It is unlikely that an individual will be selected who does not already have the prior training and experience to fully perform at the grade 1 level, or who in some other way does not fully meet all requirements for the position. However, should such an individual be offered a position, the offered salary may be at less than the minimum salary in the grade 1 pay band
