ISS are now looking to expand our operations by recruiting an experienced, professional and highly qualified Finance Manager to join our expanding office in Kabul, Afghanistan.


Job Summary

The Security & Operations manager provides project management and operational responsibility for administrative coordination and implementation of Invictus Security Services (ISS) operational and security programs including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Security Awareness Training, and Risk Management. The Security & Operations Manager will standardize and enhance operations and personnel, strengthening relationships with internal personnel, clients, law enforcement agencies, government departments, and security providers, optimizing security preparedness and emergency response capabilities, while demonstrating strong leadership and skills to create a cohesive and high functioning team. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is directly responsible for all matters pertaining to the management of day to day operations.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide both strategic and operational guidance to ensure compliance with corporate and governmental regulatory policies, standards, guidelines or procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge and assures compliance with company policies and procedures including, but not limited to: compliance, accreditation, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with the company’s mission by working with other company employees to develop and review plans, goals, and objectives, assuring development of effective business processes incorporating automation with appropriate technologies, designing systems of effective controls to guide work toward expected outcomes, and evaluating progress towards their accomplishment.
  • Facilitates effective working relationship with clients or their representatives maintaining open channels of communication with appropriate government officials, facilitating an exchange of information and implementing all relevant applicable policies regarding security operations.
  • Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
  • Build and lead a cohesive and high functioning ISS security team by fostering teamwork, strong communication, integrity and a positive culture.
  • Remains competent and current by reading professional journals and literature, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as appropriate.
  • Build and maintain positive business partnerships.
  • Ensure that the appropriate level of training is provided for all ISS staff on disasters; fire and bomb procedures; use of technical equipment and routine security duties.
  • Maintain ISS training plans up to date for all staff and to test their knowledge of procedures regularly.
  • Works closely with other functional area specialists to ensure adequate security solutions are engineered to mitigate risk, meet business objectives, and regulatory requirements
  • Implements and operates security technologies to include preventative, detective, and compliance controls.
  • Supports incident response infrastructure & cyber intelligence platforms
  • Maintain the Security Operations Manual up to date for use by all on site personnel to cover duties, individual instructions for each post; attendance; use of security equipment; dress standard; training etc.
  • Ensure resources are appropriately and efficiently allocated to key areas of work and that priorities are always covered adequately.
  • Ensure all physical security measures to all on site customers are delivered within ISS’s corporate security policy.
  • Performance Agreements, interim and main reviews are undertaken within the set timescale.
  • Performance and attendance issues are addressed at the correct time, in accordance with ISS’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years of comparable Security Operations Management experience leading a highly skilled team, in a similar organization.
  • Demonstrable experience in security related training subjects.
  • Excellent knowledge of current International & National Security Operations standards.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, Dari and/or Pashto.


Abilities and Skills Requirement:

  • Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision making skills, with a ‘hands on’, problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
  • Experience of writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing business cases and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet shortfalls in staffing levels.
  • High degree of initiative, discretion, and decision making, being able to analyze situations accurately and taking effective action as needed.
  • Ability to be a high-level contributor to ISS and demonstrate a collegial and respectable working relationship.
  • A sound working knowledge of security best practice and legislation affecting the security role.
  • Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building strong, trusted base relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
  • Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
  • Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to delegate effectively and to hold direct reports accountable.
