A UNOPS Security Guard is accountable or responsible to the Chief Security Officer through his chain of command (i.e. Team Leader and Watchman Supervisor) for the performance of the official duties. Security Guard will carry out various security task assigned to by the Shift Leader or Guard Supervisor as follows:
Conduct 100% ID card check for UNOPS personal and visitors.
Search of all vehicles entering to UN compounds.
willingness to work set shifts and cover alternate shifts when necessary
Search of visitors and packages entering to UN compounds.
Check the removal/outgoing items and ensure that paper release and documentation is completed.
Maintain log/occurrence book and ensure that paper entries are made.
Conduct traffic control at the gates and exit points when necessary.
Report any security related information, incident and irregularities to the Chief Security Officer (CSO) through his shift leader.
Assist other staff members when required.
High School diploma is desirable At least 1-2 year experience in relevant field.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.Computer literate (MS Office, good command on Internet) is considered an asset. To be able communicate and have some understanding of conversational grasp of the English language is required. (Oral and written) and good command on Local Languages Dari/Pashto. Capable to work in a multi-national/ cultural environment.
