Job Summary

The Security Operations Manager in essence, acts as the central point for all security operations, ensuring the organizations and client’s assets and data are protected from various threats, both physical and digital. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Developing and Implementing Security Strategies:
• SOM must create and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring they are aligned with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements. 
• Managing Security Personnel:
• SOM must lead and supervise security teams, oversee training, guidance, and support to ensure high performance and compliance. 
• Incident Response:
• SOM must oversee the handling of security incidents, including investigation, containment, and recovery. 
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
• SOM must conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement security measures to reduce threats. 
• Compliance:
• SOM must ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, collaborating with IT and legal teams as needed. 
• Security Monitoring and Auditing:
• SOM must oversee the monitoring of security systems, conduct audits, and identify areas for improvement. 
• Collaboration:
• SOM must work with various departments, including IT, HR, and other relevant teams, to ensure a comprehensive security approach. 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
• Diploma in a relevant discipline may also be considered
• Additional certification or higher qualification in Security and/or Risk Management or Project Management is an advantage

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in:
• Security management
• Security risk assessments
• Incident response
• Crisis management
• Managing security projects

Technical Competencies:

• Qualified in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of public safety and security
• Experience in managing security projects
• Higher qualification in security and or risk management, project management
