Job Summary

Moore Afghanistan is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Senior Audit Manager to lead audit engagements and manage a portfolio of clients. The Senior Audit Manager will oversee engagement planning and execution, supervise audit teams, ensure compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA), and contribute to the firm’s growth and quality standards. This role requires a strong background in audit, leadership ability, and commitment to staff development.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and finalization of audit assignments in accordance with ISA and firm methodologies

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients across various sectors including government, NGOs, financial services, and private enterprises

• Supervise and review the work of audit teams and ensure timely completion of assignments

• Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and auditing matters

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, addressing audit-related issues and delivering value-added recommendations

• Ensure audit files are complete, accurate, and meet quality control standards

• Contribute to internal quality assurance and peer review activities

• Identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability and operational efficiency

• Mentor and train audit staff, conduct performance evaluations, and support career development

• Participate in business development activities including proposals, presentations, and networking

• Stay updated with relevant IFRS, ISA, and regulatory developments


Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is required

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in external audit, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior supervisory role

• Proven experience in leading and managing large audit engagements

• In-depth knowledge of IFRS, ISA, and local regulatory frameworks

• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills

• Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities

• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Dari and/or Pashto is an advantage

• Willingness to travel within Afghanistan as required

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience with public sector audits and donor-funded projects

• Prior experience with an international audit or Big Four firm is highly desirable

• Strong understanding of risk-based audit approaches and internal controls
