The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is the sole independent governing body responsible for managing, organizing, and developing cricket in Afghanistan. Since its establishment in 1995, Afghanistan cricket has achieved significant milestones, including obtaining affiliate membership with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001, associate membership with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 2003, and full ICC membership in June 2017. Afghanistan's National Cricket Teams are now competing among the top 10 cricketing nations globally.

 


Job Summary

The Senior Discipline Officer of the Integrity Committee operates under the guidance and direct supervision of ACB Top Management and is responsible for applying all discipline unit rules, codes, and laws to players, technical, and administrative staff. Well-versed in ACB’s disciplinary laws, policies, and procedures, as well as those set by the ICC, the Senior Discipline Officer ensures strict adherence to these guidelines. Collaboration with all ACB departments is essential, and the Senior Discipline Officer works closely with them to facilitate the exchange and reporting of disciplinary information to Top Management.

 


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Investigation of the case and finding out all the necessary evidences, when the case is referred to the Discipline Committee.
  • Investigate and ensure the discipline of any disciplinary violations by players, support staff and match officials, inside and outside the country.
  • Investigation of disciplinary violations and punishment of violators from the discipline code.
  • Assigning the monetary and non-monetary punishment (playing bans etc.) according to the specific code stated in the ACB discipline code.
  • Implementing disciplinary law & rules on all ACB players, support staff and match officials.
  • Awareness of discipline code to all players, technical staff, and match officials.
  • Supervision of domestic cricket Events (U16, U17, U19, Emerging team, A team, and national team).
  • Review of domestic cricket matches according to match referee report and other resources.
  • Preparing the report and making decision in the light of “Discipline code” and other related policies of ACB & ICC.
  •  Presentation of the committee decision to the top management for approval.
  • Taking necessary action after management approval.
  • Announcement of the decision through media if necessary.
  • Sharing the final report to the violator and Human Resources Department.
  • The related department shall be put in the picture while the reports get finished.
  • Research and inspection.
  • Implementation of discipline code, law & rules on all ACB staff/players.
  • Sharing discipline related reports and cases with the ACB top management.
  • Preservation of Committee confidential documents.
  • Work on Planning, budgeting, reporting of the Discipline Committee.
  • Performing any other task assigned by top management.
  • Awareness of discipline code to all players, technical staff, and match officials.
  • Raise awareness about the importance of integrity and fair play in cricket.
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive documents or presentations outlining the specific rules, ethical guidelines, and expectations of behavior as per the discipline code.
  • Conduct cultural orientation for players, officials, and staff members during cricket events.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the field of cricket is an advantage and will be given priority.
  • Fluency in English and local languages (Pashto & Dari) in both forms written and verbal
  • Computer skills, including Ms. Office and e­mail writing.
  • High level of integrity and dependability.
