Main responsibility of Senior Infrastructure Officer
The main objective of the Senior Infrastructure Officer is to assist the EQUIP to ensure compliance with the relevant infrastructure policies of the World Bank Group and those of the Government of Afghanistan and that the planning issues are addressed adequately during the implementation of EQUIP Program in compliance with the WB policies. In undertaking the assigned tasks, the ISD infrastructure department will work closely with the EQUIP Director.
Specific Responsibilities of (Design and Planning)
The Senior Infrastructure Officer will provide technical assistance to the EQUIP Director and infrastructure department of ISD.
More specifically, the work involves the following responsibilities:
1. Develop a Plan and identify projects and activities related to EQUIP
2. Assist ISD infrastructure department’s engineers to develop work plan for technical survey, design, and cost estimation of their department and regularly supervisor their activities on regular bases.
3. Provide technical assist and support to infrastructure department for design team during project design.
4. Provide technical support to ISD Engineers for proper check and control of technical survey, design, and cost estimation of infrastructure department for all projects.
5. Provide technical consultation and advise to ISD for technical problems solution
6. Provide assistance to the EQUIP Team with complete data of the activities and education related information.
7. Regularly monitor progress of related staff member’s particularly technical survey, design and cost estimation of ISD Engineers.
8. Review and compile weekly, monthly and annual, reports from related technical departs, and submit them to director of ISD and EQUIP
9. Perform any other job assigned by the EQUIP Director.
Must have the ability to lead, organize and co-ordinate with team members;
Must have Computer skills (MS Office, emails and Auto CAD);
Must demonstrate reporting and project management skills.
Must have the ability to interpret and modify detailed engineering drawings.
Must have Excellent problem solving skills (analyze a case study or situation and recommend solution(s).
Must have excellent communication (verbal and written – technical writing) skills in both English and local languages (Pashto and Dari).
Must have willing to travel and work in the field, occasionally in remote locations
