BGC also have Asian, European and Middle East trade partners for trading in offset printing machinery. We also have joint-venture/ subcontract agreements with PT Gramedia, Asia Pulp Paper, and Tijiwi Kimia in Indonesia. If necessary, we can use them as subcontracts. It is worth mentioning that BGC has been dominant on the printing industry in Afghanistan. It has successfully managed to print all kinds of school and college textbooks for years and effectively executed 9 major contracts with the Ministry of Education, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Job Summary

The IT Senior Officer will look after support and maintenance of IT systems, networks and the availability of communication systems to facilitate the end-users for their operations and communications in the company.

Duties & Responsibilities

1.   Use combinations of strong technical skills and business acumen to provide analysis, definition, and direction to IT-related development.

2.   Make sure that the system and other IT-related systems/equipment of the company are functioning well and without any trouble.

3.   Perform all responsibilities within the guidelines of the company’s and IT policies and procedures.

4.   Define gaps in the skills matrix for the department and develop a plan of action to eliminate any skills gaps in IT staff.

5.   Oversee the administration and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure.

6.   Use standard system methods in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of information technology systems.

7.   Direct the activities of IT staff in the development of new information technology systems and enhancement of existing automated systems.

8.   Evaluate, review, and recommend requests for information systems hardware, software, or services.

9.   Provide guidance to the systems, programming, and operation staff in the solution of hardware/software-related problems.

10.   Coordinate implementation of data communication equipment and applications with end-user departments, vendors, and data centers.

11.   Direct the investigation and analysis of computer equipment and related software; supplies management with providing appropriate recommendations.

12.   Develop a budget, cost estimates, human resource requirements, manpower plans, time schedules, and makes work assignments to meet the objectives of the IT Department.

13.   Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the staff of the department.

14.   Evaluate and verify the performance of IT Dept employees through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.

15.   Ensure that correct IT functionality requirements and standards are addressed.

16.   Ensure comprehensive, accurate, and timely reporting to the Management as and when required.

17.   Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and reports information to company management.

18.   Maintenance of the CCTV Camera

19.   Handling all hardware issues related to Desktops & Printers.

20.   Handling Software installation, or any other related software and support.

21.   Install antivirus other required software on all required machines and oversee software license renewals. Regularly plan, organize, evaluate IT and electronic data are operational and working fine

22.   Perform repairs and replacements of software and hardware peripherals

23.   Perform failure analysis and determine corrective action plans.

24.   Maintain accurate documentation for system installations, configurations, upgrades, and disaster recovery activities.

25.   Other job-related tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT technology.

•   Minimum 5 years experience in the IT Management field where 3 years on a managerial level.

•   Proven experience leading and motivating teams, including coaching and mentoring skills for the assessment and development of IT personnel.

•   Understanding of PC hardware setup and configuration.

•   Understanding of networking concepts and technologies.

•   Understanding of security infrastructure, including anti-virus & firewalls.

•   Professional, honest and disciplined.

•   Self-motivated to seek out answers generates ideas, and develop new skills.

•   Positive, proactive, and motivated attitude.

•   Effective time management, scheduling, and organization skills.

•   Strong analytical and trouble solving skills.

•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts.

•   Being flexible regarding working hours.
