MTN Afghanistan is the subsidiary company of MTN Group operating in 20 countries with a subscriber base of over 200 Millions. MTN provides GSM services in Afghanistan. We are looking for qualified and experienced candidates to fill the vacant position(s).

Job Summary

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

The mission is to ensure; in partnership with stakeholders; that all MTNA MoMo finances are managed efficiently as well as all financial and business information represents a true and fair view of the state of the business of MTNA MoMo

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Tasks:

·      Develop the Medium and long term financial strategy (5/10 years) for the MTNA MoMo in line with global best practice in order to ensure that the organization is viable both internally and externally and as a social and financial entity.

·      Develop an effective financial management framework for treasury; tax planning and financial controls in order to set standards and work methods.

·      Prepare the annual finance work plan and ensure the effective execution thereof in order for the business objectives to be achieved.

·      Establish the finance functions’ alignment with MTNA MoMo objectives in order to effectively drive the overall business and group objectives

·      Prepare; monitor and control the annual budget process to ensure expenditure is in line with the business plan.

·      Act as the chief advisor and strategist, providing needed support to the CEO; Board and employees with respect to the identification of financial risk and long term financial effects of company decisions (financial scenario analysis)

·      Provide advice to Board and CEO in order to guide business decisions.

·      Provide direction and decision making capability in order to determine the best means of aligning the operational environment with the strategic intent of the organization

·      Approve all finance and accounting transactions to ensure good corporate governance

·      Ensure adequate company funding by ensuring optimal spending of money – keeping costs low yet product / service in line with standards set by MTNA MoMo

·      Evaluate the broader environment variables and business market conditions and incorporate this assessment into decision making processes

·      Identify financial risk and effects thereof so as to protect the business from potential revenue losses

·      Maintain financial integrity in MTNA MoMo books; financial processes and procedures in order to ensure good corporate governance is maintained

·      Manage risk and return of company financial resources

·      Minimize revenue leakage 

·      Plan taxes efficiently to reduce impact of taxes on performance of business

Report on the MTNA MoMo business state in a true and fair manner

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements  

Education:

 B Comm. / B Comm. honours

 Professional Qualification – CA / ACCA / CIMA

Experience:

 7 to 10 years finance experience including 5 years at a senior level reporting into the CFO or CEO
