Job Summary
The Senior Stock Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the company’s inventory operations across multiple locations. This role ensures accurate and timely stock records, efficient stock handling processes, and strict adherence to inventory control standards. The Senior Stock Officer serves as a key liaison between procurement, production, Finance and distribution functions, providing critical insights to support operational continuity and decision-making. This position plays a strategic role in optimizing inventory performance, minimizing losses, and enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities:
Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of inventory, including raw materials, finished goods, consumables, and spare parts across all company locations.
Monitor stock levels and initiate timely replenishment in coordination with the procurement and planning teams to avoid stock-outs or overstock situations.
Implement, enforce, and continuously improve standardized stock management policies, procedures, and internal control measures in alignment with company guidelines and compliance standards.
Supervise all stock-related activities, including receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, returns, and inter-site transfers.
Accurately input and update all inventory transactions using BG inventory management software on a daily basis.
Optimize stockroom layout and storage systems to enhance space utilization, operational efficiency, and stock accessibility.
Oversee the picking, packing, and dispatching of goods, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules and client requirements.
Track, document, and report all inventory movements across sites, ensuring items are correctly classified by usage, type, and priority level.
Analyze stock trends and classify stock based on movement and consumption patterns (e.g., fast-moving, slow-moving, obsolete) to inform procurement planning.
Maintain comprehensive records on stock replacements, disposals, write-offs, and new acquisitions in accordance with company procedures.
Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical stock counts (monthly, quarterly, and annually), reconcile discrepancies, and ensure system accuracy.
Generate and submit clear, detailed stock reports and performance analytics to management within prescribed timelines.
Lead and mentor junior stock officers and warehouse personnel to ensure consistent application of stock management practices.
Collaborate with finance and audit teams during internal and external audits, providing stock documentation and support as required.
Identify and mitigate risks related to inventory loss, damage, obsolescence, or mismanagement.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to support production planning, project forecasting, and capacity assessments.
Recommend and assist in the implementation of inventory Management systems and automation tools to improve accuracy and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards in all stockroom and warehouse operations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing lead time, increasing stock accuracy, and enhancing supply chain integration.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the appropriate authority.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Sotck/inventory or warehouse management.
At least 2 years in a supervisory or senior Stock/inventory control role.
Hands-on experience with inventory management systems
Language Knowledge:
Proficiency in Pashto, Dari, and English.
Technical Skills
In-depth knowledge of inventory control principles (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, ABC analysis).
Proficient in Stock/inventory and ERP systems.
Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Strong analytical abilities to identify trends, solve discrepancies, and optimize stock levels.
Familiarity with warehouse layout planning and material handling best practices.

Ability to plan and prioritize multiple Stock-related tasks across branches.
Effective leadership skills and experience mentoring junior staff.
