The incumbent of the position is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of loans for small and medium entrepreneurs (businesses)
-Recruit new clients
-Continually network to identify potential SME Clients in the respective region/zones
-Explain the loan process to potential clients and verify clients’ eligibility for a loan
- Carry out risk assessment by collecting detailed information on each client through meetings and field visits (home, business, suppliers, customers, guarantors, community) and complete loan appraisal (financial analysis, repayment capacity, duration of loan, collateral, etc)
- Update required data in MIS
- Prepare Loan Appraisal report for Credit Committee meeting
- Collect and/or fill out documents for guarantees
- Present the loan to Credit Committee and inform the client of the loan committee’s decision.
- Verify the proper use of the funds disbursed
- Monitor loans including periodic site visits and check that repayments are made on schedule.
- Report clients to supervisor when repayments are late and contact clients to arrange repayment
- Ensure full compliance with all Mutahid policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the audit recommendations
- Conduct orientation meetings with potential SME clients at various levels
- Perform a loan needs assessment for each of the interested SME clients
- Conduct the technical feasibility and economic viability study for each of the potential and interested SME clients businesses
- Assist the SME clients in preparing their loan applications and brief them on the general procedures and requirements for the SME product
- Monitor the progress of the SME loans and provide support as needed
- Assist SMEs department to participate on the available fairs and workshops
- Based on the knowledge of the local community, support and communicate to the headquarters any new initiative which could improve the SMEs’ development processes
Qualifications: A high school certificate with a diploma in business administration and 4 years of relevant work experience OR a bachelor\'s degree in business administration, economics, commerce, or social sciences with one year of relevant work experience in SME lending, banking or finance company.
Management skills: planning, organizing, prioritizing, time management, conflict management and a proven ability to manage staff and to contribute to their skills and capacity development
Communication skills: good communication skills, with fluency in Dari and English are required. The candidate should be able to draft reports and the write e-mails and letters in English. Pashto would be a further asset.
Computer/Technology skills: The applicant should be computer literate and should be well acquainted with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and MS Outlook. The applicant should also be able to browse and surf the internet and to use instant messaging

PERSONAL TRAITS: Good understanding of business process; ability to communicate and to maintain good relation with the clientele; good presentation skills and excellent courteous attitude; social concern; ability to work in confidentiality; ability to work in the field and to use a motorbike; at least 30 years of age; and a good and sufficient understanding of the people of the target community.
