FHI 360 - USWDP Project, Multi Location
The SBCC Officer will be an FHI 360 employee working and placed at the HEMAYAT office and in Health Promotion Department of MoPH in Kabul. The SBCC Officer will be a member of a six-person team, responsible for assisting with implementation and monitoring of SBCC activities within the donor-approved work plan. Specifically, the SBCC Officer will spend considerable time with technical staff within the Health Promotions Department (HPD) of MoPH to support joint activities. The SBCC Officer will consult with the SBCC Demand Generation Technical Specialist and SBCC TA Lead for all technical issues and report to the Demand Generation Senior Manager, as appropriate and directed.
Assist with SBCC program design, adaptation, implementation, and monitoring with program staff and technical experts;
At the direction of the SBCC Demand Generation Specialist, assist with timely implementation of all activities in the approved work plan and conduct field visits for SBCC project monitoring;
Under supervision of the Demand Generation Senior Manager and SBCC Specialist, coordinate with other stakeholders, principally the HPD of MoPH, and assist with technical activities involving co-existing SBCC communications campaigns;
Assist with adaptation, translation, pre-testing, and required technical review of all SBCC messaging and assist in approvals process with government regulatory bodies; and
Keep the Demand Generation Senior Manager, SBCC Specialist, and SBCC TA Lead and Health Promotion Director apprised of activity progress and carry out other technical, program or senior managerial tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
University degree in communications.
At least two years’ experience with SBCC or health communications programming in Afghanistan with national reach. Candidates with social marketing/demand generation experience desired.
Ability to translate technical material for programming through various media channels, including broadcast, mobile technology-based, and internet media.
Ability to travel nationally for activity monitoring.
Facility with Internet and word processing software.
Good verbal, written, and editing skills in Dari and Pashto.
Strong organizational skills; ability to work with minimal direction.
