About Afghanistan Broadcasting System (Oqaab)

Founded in 2013, Afghanistan Broadcasting System (ABS) is the only licensed Afghan company to provide Digital Television (DTV) throughout Afghanistan and to facilitate the ITU mandated switchover from analog to digital broadcasting. Headquartered in Kabul, ABS has regional offices from which it will focus on rolling-out the DTT network and DTH service across the country. Through its branded Oqaab platform, ABS is offering a mix of Afghan and soon premium international TV channels in areas, where no terrestrial reception was offered before.

Job Summary

As a Social Media Specialist, we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Create Social Media posts in Pashto & Farsi
• Direct customer interaction via live chat
• Messaging with Facebook prospects, writing posts
• Answering customer inquiries
• Updating our customer lead pipeline and CRM

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in visual arts, or business management, or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of social media management experience with a successful track record using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and WhatsApp
• Proficiency with Google AdWords, PPC, SEO is a nice plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Pashto & Farsi

• At least 2 years experience as a Social Media Specialist
• High proficiency in Pashto & Farsi is a must
• Expert in the Internet Of Things
• Ready to work in shifts
• Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation and as a relationship builder.
• Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with Customers and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
• Displays engaging interpersonal skills including the ability to think and act strategically, provide sound judgment, and provide a positive and energetic attitude.
• Provides systematic and dependable follow up, as well as a high level of organization and preparedness.
• Maintains workflow under pressure and in a fast-paced, high-profile work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
