The main objective of the Social Mobilization Officer is to focus on effective planning, implementation and monitoring of provincial social mobilization activities. Social Mobilization Officer will be reporting to the Social Moblization Regional Coordinator at the Social Moblization Unit, located in Kabul.
The Social Mobilization Officer will be a member of the Social Mobilization Unit and will work closely with other Social Mobilization officers as a team.
More specifically, the work involves the following responsibilities:
1. Support and ensure propre planning and implementation of social mobilization activities in respective provinces
2. Assist Social Mobilization Regional Coordinator in preparation of plans and budget for the social mobilization unit
3. Collect update information from provinces on daily and weekly basis and assist Social Mobilization Regional Coordinator in developing comprehensive monthly and semi annual reports
4. Collect and review monthly plans and progress reports from respective provinces and provide feedback
5. Pay regular monitoring and supervisory visits to the respective provinces for review of the plans, activities (Quality Enhancement Grant, Community Contracts, Model School Projects, liquidation of the budget released, capacity building of Staff and SMS, all initiatives taken for quality improvement in education) and report and provide support
6. Facilitate administrative activities at the Central Level
7. Facilitate and coordinate preparation of semi annual report with Social Mobilization Regional Coordinator
8. Facilitate Data base development and ensure its utility for more effective tracking
9. Facilitate and coordinate respective provincial representation in EQUIP Conferences Build capacity of EQUIP provincial team members by providing training and workshops
10. Perform Training need assessment of the respective provinces and prepare the list of training requirements
11. Coordinate and facilitate training activities
12. Coordiante and supervise all training initiatives organized at provincial level
13. Prepare and provide training materials to provincial teams
14. Prepare and update regularly the documents and files as well as monthly and quarterly reports
15. Provide timely guidance and advices to provincial teams and other respective pesons
16. Address challenges including conflicts, problem solving and special field visits
17. Enhance communication and coordination between Center and Provinces
18. Strengthen coordination and communication of provincial teams with PEDs & DEDs
19. Update SM Regional Coordinator regarding provincial progress and issues (if any)
20. Translate training materials in local languages
21. Keep record (soft and hard) of all training events conducted at the respective provinces including SMS
22. Arrange and coordinate inter Provincial Exchange visits
23. Develop case studies from fields
24. Undertake any other assignment given by the SM Regional Coordinator and National Social Mobilization Coordinator
1. University (Bachelor) degree in humanities, Sociology, Social Sciences or any other field
2. At least 3 years of relevant experience in education and community mobilization
3. Excellent skills in computer programs (Word, Excel, Power Point), internet and e-mail skills.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills in Pashto and Dari languages
5. Excellent writing skills in Dari and Pashto languages
6. Reasonable English language proficiency
7. Ability to plan and manage time effectively
8. Ability to work in team effectively and pleasantly
9. Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
