Afghanaid is a British-registered international NGO, which has worked in Afghanistan for over 30 years. We assist community-driven processes that address the rights and fundamental needs of people in some of the most remote areas of Afghanistan, providing basic services, supporting development of rural livelihoods and responding to humanitarian emergencies. We are headquartered in Kabul, and operate 20 provincial and district offices across Badakhshan (north-eastern region), Samangan (northern region) and Ghor (western region), as well as a Marketing and Fundraising office in London. We employ around 160 personnel, 97% of whom are Afghans.
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Project coordinator, the social organizer is responsible to carry out community mobilization and sensitization, and manage relationships with the target communities and participants. Social organizers are primarily tasked with community mobilization and providing practical assistance in assessment and identification of the affected populations in the area; whereas project M&E have a more complex set of responsibilities including beneficiary registration and verification.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Social organizer will develop daily and monthly work plan and share with his/her line manager
He/she will identify community potential agriculture land based on the project criteria given.
He/she will conduct regularly visits to district programme site to monitor and assess the performance of target beneficiaries’ and provide to them project information.
He/she will closely work with relevant project field staff and target beneficiary to implement the project activities and will send monthly progress report against the agreed objectives and outcomes.
Facilitate input distribution including wheat seed and fertilizer, bean seed, greenhouse, and dairy processing kits to the targeted beneficiaries.
Conduct mobilization meetings with target communities, district government and other stockholders.
Document and share case studies, success stories and field visit reports as and when required.
He/she will carry out the post distribution, beneficiary’s survey and post harvesting survey in the field with the support with M/E team.
He/she will conduct nutrition education and hygiene training to famers in the target communities.
He/she will create Beneficiary’s complaint and feedback committee during distribution, and he/she will give beneficiaries information regarding the targeting criteria, what is being distributed, who is involved.
He/she will follow project beneficiary’s selection criteria for all inputs.
He/She will build close partnership with the target communities through regular meetings with them on appropriate intervals.
Conflict Resolution of likely disagreements which may emerge because of miscommunication or conflicting interests of interest groups, and timely address them.
Document and disseminates decisions to relevant individuals and organizations in timely manner.
Undertake any other duties as and when required by the line manager and/or overview manager
