•Establishing a trusting relationship with clients, whose cases are being dealt with by MA defense lawyers
•Developing a “care plan†for each client involved in criminal cases and taking the necessary steps in meeting their needs in and outside prison and detention premises, in consultations with them throughout the procedure

Mediation service
•Mediating between clients and their family members, if that has been identified by the client as a need
Referral to other organizations
•Actively search, contact and develop a working relationship with organizations providing essential support services for meeting the needs of clients
•Making referrals to other organizations for addressing clients’ needs
•Updating referral records on a regular basis
Inter-disciplinary approach
•Participating in inter-disciplinary case conferences involving MA counselors and defense lawyers, in order to promote progress in casework
Knowledge development and skills sharing
•Participating in training and networking activities, as agreed with LAP Project Manager
Record-keeping
•Keeping comprehensive records of all clients cases, in accordance with LAP record-keeping formats and procedures, and discussing progress in casework in supervision sessions with LAP Project Manager
Team work
•Contributing to team work and team development, supporting colleagues in the implementation of tasks, in order to make tangible progress in clients’ cases
•Providing regular feedback to LAP team on cases undertaken for collective learning and for monitoring and evaluation
• At least two years experience of direct support work with women
• University degree in a relevant subject
• Experience and interest in community work
• Willing to participate in training to improve social work skills
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
•Fluency in Dari and ability to communicate in Pashto and in English
•Good report-writing skills
•Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally
•Willingness and ability to work as part of a team
•Willingness to travel to Kabul and Herat
