The Senior Advisor-LN Manager is responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of the CSSP Local National Team and reports directly to the CSSP DCOT. The position supervises and coordinates the activities of nine (9) subordinate Senior Project Advisors engaged in developing, mentoring, and implementing viable, culturally appropriate, sustainable, and sound correctional practices. Furthermore, him / her ensures comprehensive mentoring and instruction is provided to the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Centers (GDPDC) and the Juvenile Rehabilitation Directorate (JRD) resulting in sustainable knowledge transfer, and serves as the primary mentor to the GDPDC and JRD.
Ensures that advisors are meeting program deliverables; Organizes work, sets priorities and determines resource requirements. Determines short-term/long-term goals. Coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish objectives and monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
Liaise with senior Afghan government officials and provide mentoring, analytical services and support when necessary. Develops and implement strategies, policies, and plans that affect program operations. Coordinate submission of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting. Prepares summary written reports based on reviews of records, conducts data collection, and generates analytical reports. Develops and implements continuing education and training programs for the professional development of Afghan personnel. Ensure the work of each Afghan staff member in his/her team’s performance is reviewed and evaluated, and that regular feedback guidance is provided. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Completion of a four (4) year degree from an accredited university in a relevant field and/or three (3) years of experience in an Afghan Rule of Law Program; Afghan Ministry; International Organization; or Non-Government Organizations (NGO) as an administrator, supervisor or project advisor. Up to two years’ experience can be substituted for candidates with a relevant graduate level degree from an accredited university Demonstrated ability to present both verbally and in writing with clarity and precision to senior level executives.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Afghan criminal law and procedures. Ability to develop and maintains effective relationships; effectively works with difficult, hostile, or distressed people; is sensitive to tribal and cultural diversity, race, gender, sexual orientation, and individuals with disabilities. Must have excellent oral and written English, Dari, and Pashtu communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, logical, and concise reports. Skilled with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
