Job Summary

Working with internal and external customers to document and clarify specifications, design, develop, evaluate and/or modify, implement basic and complex VSAT based communication system. Provide support to junior VSAT technicians and engineers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design, configure, install and maintain of VSAT networks, Hubs, and WiMAX hardware components, including estimate of component costs, assessment to ascertain suitability of off-the-shelf or internal build of components. Deliver technical proposal involving VSAT/RF/WiMAX. Development and testing of new Satellites determine design approach and parameters; analyze and select equipment and components based on specifications and reliability. Oversight of project including development of project timetable, coordination of work of junior engineers and technicians, follow-up with vendors to ensure components match specs and delivered on a timely basis. In addition the following responsibilities will be honored as well:
*Generating engineering design documents, pre-build/as built, training, operation & maintenance
* Calculating link budgets, integration and implementation

Installation and commissioning of Hub antenna (both C and Ku band).

Site survey for possible VSAT location.

Installation/Configuration of CISCO Router/Switch. CCNA required

Coordination with different earth station for maintenance and establishment of new VSAT circuit.

Generate report for daily activity.

Testing of equipment for the new and existing VSAT sites.

Conducts Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) testing.

Technical support to VSAT installation, commissioning as well as troubleshooting to our client.

Fault diagnostic and on-site troubleshooting.

Hub Operation and maintenance of VSAT circuits.

Handles different VSAT equipment and test equipments such as Data Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzer, SatFinders etc.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with VSAT satellite and RF systems required. Knowledge of and experience with military customers extremely helpful. Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment. Must possess excellent communications skills and be able to interact with a variety of people including customers, vendors and other employees. Knowledge of and experience with IP networks and VoIP helpful. Secret clearance highly desired; ability to obtain clearance is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Candidates must possess BSEE with 4 or more years experience designing and developing communications systems required. CCNA or MCSE preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English mandatory, Pashto or Dari required. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical marketing brochures and catalogues, government regulations, and other business publications and reports. Ability to write reports, correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, sales reps, Company employees and the general public.
