Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

A. Data analysis
1. Assist Statistics Unit (SU) to develop/revise standards, guidelines, procedures for data
collection, entry, cleaning, reporting and dissemination
2. Assist SU in improvement/revision of EMIS data collection questionnaires based on
educational planning, monitoring and reporting indicators/standards
3. Prepare/develop standards, procedures, and guidelines for statistical data analysis
4. Identify MoE data needs based on national and international education indicators
5. Analyze MoE data and information, on the basis of statistical analysis standards, to be
used for development of education sector diagnosis, projection and simulation models, and
other statistical and analytical reports,
6. Prepare regular statistical and analytical reports on the status and performance indicators
for MoE programs
7. Work closely with Statistics, Monitoring and Reporting, and Research and Evaluation
Units to prepare annual statistical yearbook
8. Other tasks requested by the supervisor of unit.

B. Capacity development
1. Assess data analysis and reporting capacity needs and requirements in Statistics Unit (SU),
Monitoring and Reporting Unit (MRU), and Research and Evaluation Unit (REU),
2. Prepare a statistics capacity development plan for SU, MRU and REU staff,
3. Prepare training materials for statistics capacity development of SU, MRU and REU staff,
and
4. Introduce statistical data analysis software.
Deliverables
1. Updated projection and simulation models
2. Updated indicators reports
3. Capacity development plan and training materials
Documentation of analyses and data estimation methods

Job Requirements

At least Bachelors’ degree in statistics, educational management and planning, social
sciences or other related areas
 At least five years of experiences in the field of educational planning and management
and/or related fields
 Excellent knowledge of English and local languages;
 Good knowledge and skills in analysis of statistical data and report writing
 Good knowledge and skills in computer applications and software, such as SPSS for
statistical analysis
