POWER - The Philanthropic Organization for Welfare, Empowerment and Research is a non-for-profit organization managed by dedicated and qualified Afghans working in health, education, welfare, agriculture and research aiming at achieving sustainable economic and social development in Afghanistan. Power Afghanistan team has years of ground experience and has been engaged in managing and implementing multi-sector projects in Afghanistan. POWER Afghanistan operates within four main areas:

About Project

A rapid, extreme deterioration in the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan is observed with more than 22 million people projected to need food assistance over the coming months, including more than 8 million people in IPC4 reliant on assistance to mitigate loss of life. Half of Afghan children could be at risk of acute malnutrition. In the targeted districts, POWER will engage with local authorities, CDCs, community leaders and DoRR to identify the most vulnerable households, including through gender and protection considerations (e.g. female-headed households and persons with disabilities) based on WFP Targeting Criteria. Upon identification, the beneficiaries shall be registered in the Scope System and facilitate assistance to the registered vulnerable households for a specific period of time.

Job Summary

The surveyor will be responsible for targeting the beneficiaries as per the WFP targeting criteria in the assigned districts.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collecting data of targeted beneficiaries’ households using paper and electronic questionnaires;
• Ensuring the data is collected according to the list finalized by the Beneficiary selection committee;
• Syncing electronic questionnaires to the main database/server via mobile internet;
• Guiding beneficiaries to distribution/registration centers for the sake of SCOPE registration;
• Attending training sessions organized for surveyors at the main office;
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Line Manager.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience

• At least a bachelor's degree in the related field;
• At least two years of professional experience is required in surveys or interviews;
• Previous work experience with WFP projects will be a plus for the candidates;
• Female candidates and couples are encouraged to apply.

Required Competencies

• Able to work under heavy pressure situation 
• Able to conduct fieldwork;
• Able to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work on time;
• Ability to speak Pashto and Dari;
• Showing good behavior and character with the community members;
• Strong communication skills required;
• Should have a smartphone and ability to use smartphone;
• Computer skills required particularly Microsoft Office;
• Ability to travel to various districts in the respective provinces.
