About Afghanistan Stabilization Program

Job Summary

To Assist surveyor in prepare survey and topographic drawings for districts infrastructure projects within a planned timeframe as agreed by the project team.

Duties & Responsibilities


Assist the Surveyor and Project Management team in the preparation of project documentation.

To carry out topographic surveys and soil investigations of proposed sites in district throughout the country.

Manage specified tasks independently, particularly preparation of site layouts and drawings as necessary.

Travel to provinces and districts for selection of sites, support external survey and soil investigation team, and the production of the necessary project documentations.

Ability to work on one’s own initiative and to manage a range surveying tasks independently in a difficult environment where needs and demands are constantly changing.

Ability to operate effectively in a team environment where task division and teamwork will be critical to meet urgent deadlines.

Ability to deal sensitively in multi –cultural environments and build effective working relationship with colleagues.

Knowledge of specific field /s and familiar with the latest technology and equipment in carrying the specific task/s relevant to the position.

Ability to manage, supervise and work productively with a small design team.

Strong and excellent communication skills.

Proven oral and written reporting skills.

Knowledge of and / or the ability to acquire a rapid knowledge of activities in reconstruction and development related concerns in the field of expertise.

Ability to interact professionally with project management team and other Engineering disciplines.

Job Requirements


A diploma in engineering (Surveying and /or civil structure Engineering) from a recognized institution would be an advantage.

Experience:


some 2 years ( for Assistant surveyor ) of progressively responsible professional experience with national and international organizations carrying out land surveying , soil investigation and engineer detailing and the production of procurement documentation

ّLanguages: fluency ( oral and written ) in both National languages ( Pashto . Dari ), Good English communication and written English skills.

Computer skill: Full computer skills ( Ms office and Auto cad ).

Ability to travel to all parts of Afghanistan.
