Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

Job Summary

The Surveyor/distributor is responsible for the collection of information on the returnees, IDPs and host communities. Conduct door to door assessment surveys for profiling communities in the target locations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Regularly travel to the villages in the target districts of Balkh Province and neighbor north provinces when required.
• Perform speedy assessments and door to door surveys in consultation with CDCs to select vulnerable recipients in compliance with the criteria in practice in Balkh province.
• Work with communities to specify the most vulnerable populations in their communities.
• Develop strategies for reaching out to beneficiaries in rural communities.
• Maintain a database for the registered beneficiaries and community. ·        
• Assure that the beneficiaries are chosen in line with the criteria for the program. ·       
• Participate in the relevant training when needed.        
• Taking photos/video clips of the beneficiaries during the survey when needed and entering the date into the Kobo/database after the assessment.        
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.  

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Education:

• 14 Grade, Diploma in Social Science or any other relevant field/Bachelor Degree is preferable.

Experience:

• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Must have English Fast Typing and Data Entry experience
• Applicants having IRW experience in the same capacity is preferable

Required Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of local languages Dari and Pashto
• Knowledge and experience of targeted province Balkh Village and neighbor provinces 
• Must have data management & privacy skills
• Must have skill of using online data maintenance line Kobo System
• Able to handle field initiatives
• Able to meet deadlines and deliver high quality work on time
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks
• Be punctual, on time and able to meet deadlines
