Job Summary

Zinzir LTD is looking for a Systems Engineer who under the general supervision assists in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing complex systems or networks consisting of a combination of different hardware and software components and technologies. The incumbent will provide assistance under the general supervision in systems engineering tasks that may include hardware servers, networks, storage arrays, physical and logical components, virtual machines, Linux/Unix systems and backup and recovery solutions. The incumbent will be working alongside other engineers and IT administrators on different layers of the infrastructure engaging in different technical operations. 

Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products are essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Proficient administration of day-to-day hardware and system servers, storage stack, and network infrastructure.
• Proficient administration of Linux/Unix systems and its applications e.g.: Apache, Nginx, firewall, NodeJS
• Proficient administration of virtualization stack and virtualization operations on VMware vSphere, VMware ESXi, and Linux KVM
• Proficient administration of cloud servers, hosting servers and cPanels
• Proficient administration of backup applications e.g.: backup and recovery configuration, implementation and monitoring for the entire infrastructure stack
• Handling proficiently system administration tasks e.g.: configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting of Linux/Unix systems and its operations, VMware vSphere systems and its operations
• Handling proficiently network switching and security operations e.g.: configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting of Cisco switches, Cisco ASA and FTD firewalls, open source firewalls and more
• Assists in maintaining systems compliance, configuring new changes, planned and unplanned troubleshooting.
• Providing technical assistance and coordination with relevant technology departments
•     Documentation of procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware

Job Requirements

Education: 

Bachelor degree in Computer Science and/or Information Technology relevant

Skills

• Linux/Unix proficient administration skills.
• VMware vSphere and Linux KVM proficient administration skills.
• Proficient knowledge of networking and network security.
• Install, remove, patch and upgrade Operating Systems and its software components.
• Administer backup and recovery jobs: monitor, create, delete and migrate backups
• Experience and understanding of networks, wireless and wired networks, and DevOps tools
• Basic familiarity with documentation of processes and procedures
• Understanding and experience with networking technologies
• The ability to pay attention to detail
• Good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to work
• Manage stress and work on a very tight deadline
• An understanding of legislation and guidelines for website accessibility
•    A willingness to keep up to date with changes in technology and software.

Qualifications

• Red Hat, Linux+ certification is a plus
• Microsoft MCSA and MCSE certification is a plus
• Linux/Unix and Windows Server Administration Skills
• Cisco Switches and firewalls administration Skills
• Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification is a plus
• VMware Data Centre certification is a plus
• Familiar with backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Familiar with monitoring and logging products
•     Basic familiarity of Apache, Nginx, MySQL and DevOps tools
